Afroditi Falierou
Afroditi Falierou is a student in the Business Administration program at Fordham University’s Gabelli School of Business in New York. Concurrently, she is pursuing studies in the Department of Primary Education at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. Her academic path reflects her deep love for the Greek language and education, as well as her commitment to making a meaningful contribution to the preservation of Greek cultural identity within the diaspora.
Her involvement in teaching Greek as a second language began while she was living in Turkey, where she taught Greek to bilingual children. Last year, she worked as a second-grade teacher at the Saint Nectarios Greek School in Roslindale, Boston, an experience that helped her further develop her teaching skills and approach education with greater pedagogical responsibility and creativity.
Within the framework of the Nostos Hellenic Academy, she feels particularly honored to be given the opportunity to continue this work, drawing on her studies and experience in the field of education. Through this activity, she aims to strengthen students’ language skills, cultivate their love of learning, and deepen their connection with the Greek language and culture.
